REG girls use home-gym advantage to win Zone 4 title

The Level 4 and Level 6 girls teams from Redwood Empire Gymnastics maximized their home-gym advantage to take first place in the Zone 4 Championships held in Petaluma.


The Level 4 girls were led by Cristina Mattis, who placed first overall, edging teammate Blake Gozashti by 0.05. Mattis finished first on beam, second on bars and third on vault, while Gozashti finished first on vault and floor, fourth on bars and seventh on beam.

In the same group, Jenna Mankowski placed fourth overall after taking second on beam, third on vault, fifth on floor and sixth on bars. Alexandra Abraham was seventh overall, taking third on floor, sixth on beam and 10th on vault, while Maya Perry was fourth on beam and Ashton Emerson was 10th on vault.

In the Child division, Kira Lim edged teammate Camille Mantoani for first place overall by 0.175. Lim was also first on bars and beam, third on vault and fourth on floor, while Mantoani was second on bars and beam, third on floor and fourth on vault.

Gwyneth Gerlach came in sixth overall after taking third on beam, fifth on vault and seventh on bars, while Kaylie Barrera was seventh on vault.

Melissa Florian took second place overall in the Senior division after placing first on beam, third on bars and floor, and ninth on vault.

The first-place Level 6 girls were led by Kennedy Kreger, who was first overall in the Junior division after taking first on vault and beam, second on floor and fifth on bars. Shelby Firebaugh was fifth overall after placing fifth on bars and beam.

Alexandra Green took first place overall in the Child division, finishing second on bars and floor, third on beam and fifth on vault, while Kailey Wann was fifth overall with a second on vault and third on bars.

Monica Fink was third overall in the Senior division after taking second on vault and fifth on bars.

The Level 5 girls finished fourth as a team and were led by Thea Michovsky, who was third overall in the Child division, after taking second on floor, fourth on bars, fifth on vault and eighth on beam.

Elizabeth Webb and Annika Schmid tied for fourth place overall, with Webb placing fourth on beam, seventh on vault and bars and eighth on floor, and Schmid taking fourth on floor and fifth on bars and beam. Ariana Robertson was ninth on beam.

In the Junior division, Analise Silva finished second overall after taking second on vault, third on bars and floor, and sixth on beam. Lindsay Florian was sixth overall, placing fourth on beam, seventh on bars and eighth on floor.

In the Senior division, Ingrid Jungferman was sixth overall with thirds on bars and floor, and a fifth on beam, while Hadley Osman was seventh on beam and eighth on floor.
