The Santa Rosa school board will meet tonight to continue ongoing debate over a list of $5.6 million in potential cuts.
On the list of potential cuts to the district's $88.2 million unrestricted general fund budget are closing schools, shortening the school year, cutting librarian positions and increasing class sizes.
The board expects to make a final decision in January and has scheduled a series of meetings to take public input.
Tonight's meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Elsie Allen High School, 599 Bellevue Ave.
The time and location of the meeting was changed because of a conflict with the usual Santa Rosa City Hall venue.
Meetings are also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at Piner High School; 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at Montgomery High School; and 6 p.m. on Dec. 9 in Santa Rosa City Council chambers.
