Rain wet the region Tuesday night but Wednesday dawned bright and clear, with frost and ice reported in some areas.

Rainfall totals around Sonoma County by 7 a.m. Wednesday showed several areas getting from one-fifth- to about one-fourth of an inch since Tuesday.

Reports from around various communities in the region included Santa Rosa with .27 inches, Sebastopol with .22, Cloverdale .28, Windsor .26 and Bodega Bay .20 inches. Those totals were collected for the National Weather Service by local volunteer weather watchers.

“Finally some rain in the gauge!!” wrote one Santa Rosa volunteer, who also reported a low Wednesday of 37 degrees.

In Monte Rio early Wednesday, a weather reporter wrote “Frost on the rooftops with a temp of 34. Stars are bright this morning.”

In Lake County, the CHP was investigating a crash that could involve icy roads near Clearlake.

The crash was on Bottle Rock Road, with a car that had flipped onto its roof.

Initial CHP reports said area roads were icy and county crews were going to sand the surfaces.

An ambulance was called to the crash but no information was available early Wednesday regarding injuries.

“We’ve had a few vehicle rollovers, non injury,” said Jeff Gahagan, a Cal Fire fire captain covering Napa and Lake counties. “Mainly in south Lake County. A little bit of ice, people not used to driving on it.”

The small weather front that rolled in Tuesday was here and gone quickly, leaving a dry day expected Wednesday with some sunshine.

Highs in Santa Rosa Wednesday were expected to reach about 60 degrees.

Another front is due over the North Bay on Friday, with rainfall predicted to be heaviest in the afternoon, according to forecasts.

That one should move in and out quickly, with another behind it, arriving Sunday or Monday.
