Lakeport man killed in Hwy. 20 head-on

<p>A 49-year-old Lakeport man died early Wednesday morning in a head-on crash on Highway 20 in Mendocino County.</p><p>He lost control of his 2008 Dodge Ram pickup on a bridge just east of Highway 101 and struck an oncoming 2005 Ford F-550 heading eastbound, according to the California Highway Patrol.</p><p>Both vehicles were travelling at about 50 mph, but the the bridge over the Russian River was apparently wet, according to the CHP.</p><p>The driver died at the scene of the accident. His name was not released pending notification of his relatives.</p><p>The driver of the Ford F-550, Edward Turberville, 33, from Santa Rosa, was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.</p><p>The crash occurred at about 6:50 a.m.</p>
