Lakeport man identified in fatal Highway 20 crash

A Lakeport man killed in a Wednesday morning vehicle crash on the Highway 20 overcrossing of Highway 101 in Redwood Valley has been identified as Paul Brown, 49, the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brown died shortly before 7 a.m. after losing control of his westbound Dodge Ram pickup and slamming into an oncoming Ford F-550, authorities said.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the 6:50 a.m. collision which reportedly occurred on wet pavement.

The other driver, Santa Rosa resident Edward Turberville, 33, suffered minor injuries in the crash, authorities said.

He was treated at an area hospital and released, the CHP said.
