A 12-time drunken-driver pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a thirteenth alcohol offense involving a non-injury accident on Highway 12 in Santa Rosa.
Robert James Feenan, 50, iof Santa Rosa was arrested Friday after crashing into another car near Stony Point Road.
He is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and violation of probation for his last DUI conviction in 2008. He has 11 drunken-driving convictions in Sonoma County dating back to 1990 and one in Humboldt County from 1983.
Feenan has served prison time for at least one prior offense but was granted probation in last year’s DUI by Judge Elliot Daum.
Prosecutors had asked Feenan be sent away for four years, saying he was a danger to the public, but Daum granted probation anyway, Assistant District Attorney Diana Gomez said.
“Here he is a year later, drinking and driving again,” Gomez said.
In the latest arrest, Feenan crashed on the Highway 12 off-ramp. A breathalyzer test showed he had a blood-alcohol level of .30 percent, nearly four times the legal limit of .08 percent, Deputy District Attorney Scott Jamar said.
He asked Daum to set bail at $1 million. The judge set it at $250,000 but denied bail for the probation violation.
