California Highway Patrol investigators were searching for a suspect in a hit and run crash that left two people critically injured Tuesday night.
The driver of a white Honda sedan driving east on Rainsville Road near Stony Point Road rear-ended a red Dodge pickup about 10 p.m. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to spin out of control.
The driver and passenger of the red Dodge suffered major injuries and were airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Their injuries are serious but not life threatening, Sgt. Mack Lewis said. Their identities were not available.
The driver of the white Honda fled the scene on foot.
Investigators have interviewed one witness to the crash, Lewis said. The CHP did not release any other information.
Highway patrol investigators ask that anyone with information about the incident contact the Rohnert Park California Highway Patrol at (707) 588-1400.
