Two people injured in a Sonoma Valley head-on crash have been identified as a Napa woman and a Rodeo man, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Both drivers suffered major injuries in the Thursday morning crash, which occurred at 7:55 a.m. on Arnold Drive near Orange Avenue.

Maricela Gutierrez, 41, of Napa, was northbound on Arnold Drive when her car crossed the centerline and struck a pickup driven by Del King, 61, of Rodeo, according to the CHP.

Officers said they are still investigating the cause of the crash, but there did not appear to be an indication of reckless driving nor were the drivers impaired.

Gutierrez was taken by air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she was in critical condition Friday.

King was in stable condition Friday at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa.
