Santa Rosa police on Tuesday arrested four Santa Rosa residents in connection with an identify-theft operation.

The group is suspected of producing Social Security cards, drivers licenses and residency cards for several years using randomly generated numbers, said Sgt. Michael Lazzarini, who oversaw the investigation. The group appeared to target immigrants, he said.

The suspects are Johnathan Flores Ramirez, 30, Guadalupe Teresa Vallejo Lopez, 29, Enrique Abarca Garcia, 38, and Dilery Garcia Santiago, 35.

“We recovered a tremendous amount of related evidence,” Lazzarini said. “We don’t know how many victims we have out there, and we’ll have to go through their computers or equipment to see if they stored that information.”

An undercover investigation led police to the 1400 and 200 blocks of Apple Creek Lane and the 500 block of Arrowood Drive where they uncovered evidence of a counterfeiting operation capable of producing documents from many states.

“There very well may be more people involved,” Lazzarini said.
