Mendocino County Sheriff's authorities continue to search for suspects in what's believed to be a marijuana-related shooting death of a Ukiah-area man last week.
Michael Anthony Hunter, 24, was killed Wednesday afternoon at his home on Mill Creek Road in Talmage.
The shooting appears to be related to the sale of marijuana, said Sheriff's Capt. Kurt Smallcomb.
Deputies were called to Hunter's home at about 3 p.m. Wednesday by a woman reporting a disturbance, he said. When they arrived, they found Hunter on the living room floor. Live saving efforts were begun and Hunter was taken to Ukiah Valley Medical Center where he died, Smallcomb said.
Officials last week questioned a person of interest in the case but he is not considered a suspect, Smallcomb said. That man, Joseph Starrett, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, he said.
Smallcomb said at least two people were involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to phone the Sheriff's Office at 463-4086 or 467-9159.
