A Cotati man was sentenced today to 59-years-to-life in prison for molesting a 9-year-old relative and using her to produce child pornography.
George Anthony Clair, 44, was found guilty in October to 46 counts of sexual misconduct that occurred partly in a trailer on the grounds of a Cotati towing company where he worked.
He was sentenced by Judge Gary Medvigy to 44 years plus 15-years-to-life in prison for the charges, which included possessing, producing and distributing child pornography.
Clair was arrested in 2008 after Cotati police received information from the National Center for Missing Children that child pornography was being shared over the Internet in their jurisdiction.
An examination of Clair's computer revealed thousands of images, including pictures of the 9-year-old.
Included in the photos were pictures of the girl being molested by a man who left his face out of the pictures.
Also revealed in the investigation were numerous emails where Clair exchanged child porn with others.
The trial ran 11 days and a jury deliberated one day before convicting him on all counts.
