PD FILEJose Botello-Soto, 26, had pleaded no-contest to the Oct. 30 crash that killed Crystal Carillo-Martinez, also 26.
Prosecutors said Botello-Soto was driving a Ford Explorer the wrong way on the freeway when he hit Carillo-Martinez's Honda near Healdsburg.
An investigation revealed Botello-Soto had a blood-alcohol level of 0.25 percent, more than three times the legal limit. In November he pleaded to one count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
Judge Dean Beaupre handed down the mid-term sentence. Botello-Soto faced a maximum of 10 years in prison, said prosecutor Karina Kowler.
Dozens of friends and family members of Carillo-Martinez attended several hearings leading up to the sentencing, many carrying her photograph and calling for justice.
