Horizon ridership rises in January

<p>Horizon Air carried 12,161 passengers to and from Santa Rosa in January, up 3 percent from the same month last year, according to Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. </p><p>Horizon's Santa Rosa flights were 60 percent full last month, up from 54 percent a year ago. </p><p>Seattle-based Horizon operates five flights a day from Santa Rosa to Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland and Las Vegas. </p><p>It carried just over 186,000 passengers to or from Santa Rosa last year, down from almost 205,000 in 2008, according to airport officials. </p><p>Horizon, part of Alaska Air Group, serves 45 cities in the western United States, British Columbia and Mexico.</p><p>System-wide, Horizon's passenger count was up 4.3 percent in January. Its flights were 69 percent full and 86.5 percent of them arrived on time, according to the carrier.</p>
