A Rohnert Park woman remained in custody Monday, suspected of driving drunk and child endangerment for leaving her 2-year-old grandchild home alone, reported Cotati police.
A Cotati officer stopped Teana Marie Rhoades Saturday at about 9:40 p.m. for driving 48 mph in a 30 mph area. Rhoades, 44, appeared to be intoxicated and Officer Jason Yarnell also then arrested her on suspicion of drunken driving.
While talking to Rhoades, the officer learned she'd left her young grandson alone at her Rohnert Park home. Another officer went to check on the boy and found him asleep in his bed.
The officer also found the home's gas oven was left on and the oven door open. The boy's father was called and retrieved him from the home.
Officers also arrested Rhoades on suspicion of felony child endangerment, driving on a suspended license and violating her probation.
Rhoades was on probation for a drunken driving conviction from an arrest in December 2008.
She remained in jail Monday morning in lieu of $50,000 bail.
