Temperatures dove Tuesday morning to the low 30s in most areas, including 32 degrees at the Sonoma County Airport.

Tuesday dawned clear and bright but the sunshine was expected to be more visual than physically warm.

The high temperature in Santa Rosa only was expected to reach 57 degrees, according to Diana Henderson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

Typically the high temperature for today in Santa Rosa is in the low 60s, with an average morning low at about 44 degrees.

But around the county, temperatures early Tuesday included 37 degrees in Sebastopol, 34 degrees in Healdsburg, 32 in Rohnert Park and areas in Santa Rosa seeing 32.7 and 34.1 degrees.

Those temperatures were gathered for the National Weather Service by volunteer weather watchers.

The record low for this day in Santa Rosa history was 27 degrees in 1935.

There's a good chance of rain moving in this evening but it should be gone by tomorrow morning. The next shot of possible rain for the area could come Friday.
