Bill Bowker's Blues Fest has a new home and that's good news.

The 30th Sonoma County Blues Festival will happen Saturday, July 31, on the lawns of the Earle Baum Center of the Blind on Occidental Road.

KRSH DJ Bowker staged the last 19 blues shows during the Sonoma County Fair but went looking for another venue when fair officials eliminated the fest to cut costs.

A big hand, please, for Earle Baum Center director Allan Brenner, a music lover happy to add a companion show to Earlefest, an Americana festival that rocks the center in September.

And to Bowker's boss at Wine Country Radio, Bob Sinclair, who agreed to keep the Blues Festival alive by becoming its producer.
