Youth stabbed in SR gang-related assault

<p>A young Santa Rosa man was stabbed Tuesday night after a group of boys picked a fight with him on a path along the Prince Memorial Greenway, Santa Rosa police reported.</p><p>The young man, whose age wasn't available Tuesday night, was walking with his girlfriend along the path near Olive Park around 7:25 p.m. when five or six teen-age boys approached them, Sgt. Eric Goldschlag said.</p><p>The boys were wearing gang attire and yelled gang epithets at the pair, Goldschlag said. They briefly fought with the young man, who was stabbed, Goldschlag said.</p><p>The attackers fled and the wounded youth's girlfriend called 911. He was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Goldschlag said.</p><p>Detectives were still searching for suspects Tuesday night and trying to determine the motive in the assault, Goldschlag said.</p>
