A Cotati man whose conduct with three teenage boys led to the seizure of thousands of computerized images of underage boys in sexual or suggestive poses has been sentenced to three years in state prison, the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office said.
James Michael Grippe, 56, will get credit for 169 days already served in the Sonoma County Jail, plus additional credit that likely will reduce his time to about a year in prison, Assistant District Attorney Diana Gomez said.
The case resulted from a Cotati Police Department investigation in mid-2008 into marijuana being grown at Grippe's West Sierra Avenue home.
Police learned that various boys frequented his house, including two who told detectives about massages and foot rubs.
Detectives who searched Grippe's home in September 2008 turned up thousands of pornographic images, as well as 65 pot plants, 22 ounces of processed marijuana, two firearms and $7,200 in cash.
Grippe pleaded guilty to felony possession of marijuana for sale, felony possession of child pornography and misdemeanor child annoyance charges.
He was sentenced Monday by Judge Lawrence Antolini to 16 months on the drug charge, plus a year for his use of a firearm and eight months for the child pornography charge.
