Woman dies of injuries suffered in Mendocino County head-on crash

<p>A Woodside woman died and two Berkeley residents suffered major injuries in a head-on collision in Mendocino County Sunday evening.</p><p>Patricia Woodrow, 59, died while being flown to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after the 5:34 p.m. Fourth of July crash, the CHP said.</p><p>She was driving south on Highway 101, north of Willits, when she crossed into oncoming traffic and into the path of a Toyota truck.</p><p>After the two vehicles stopped, they were blocking both lanes of the highway. Firefighters had to free Woodrow from her crushed car.</p><p>Pickup driver Paul Webb, 58, and passenger Monica Winu, also of Berkeley both had major injuries.</p><p>She was taken by helicopter to Memorial Hospital and Webb was taken by ambulance to Howard Hospital in Willits.</p><p>CHP officers are investigating with the alcohol or drugs were a factor.</p>
