Detectives are still searching for a group of teen-agers who Wednesday night chased down a 16-year-old boy and near downtown Santa Rosa, police officials said.

The group of gang members chased the boy on several streets in the St. Rose Historic District, Sgt. Steve Fraga said.

Police were called to the 900 block of Washington Street just before 8 p.m. and found the youth, who had at least 15 stab wounds made from a small knife, Fraga said.

The teen-ager was transported to the hospital with wounds that didn’t appear to be life threatening, Fraga said.

The attackers fled before officers arrived.
