Donations surge for Santa Rosa pools, senior center

<p>Interest has surged in making donations to help keep Santa Rosa's pools and senior center open following a report of struggling fund-raising efforts. </p><p>Marc Richardson, director of the Recreation, Parks & Community Services Department, said registrations for Sunday's 5K run/walk in Juilliard Park are up sharply and inquiries about how to donate also have spiked. </p><p>Those interested in registering for the event can go to www.thesantarosamarathaon.com.</p><p>Direct donations to the city can be made several ways.</p><p>Checks for the pools can be sent to: Santa Rosa Aquatic Trust Fund, 2060 West College Ave., Santa Rosa, 95401.</p><p>Checks for the senior center can be sent to Bennett Valley Senior Center Trust Fund, 704 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, 95404.</p><p>Donations for various city programs can also be made online through the city's Web site at: http://ci.santa-rosa.ca.us/departments/recreationandparks/Pages/DonatetoRP.aspx.</p><p>-- Kevin McCcallum</p>
