Rohnert Park man accused of embezzling transportation district funds

<p>A 34-year-old Rohnert Park resident was arrested Thursday on suspicion of embezzling more than $98,000 from the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, San Rafael police officials reported.</p><p>Jason Brewer, a buyer for the district's San Rafael bus division, was booked into Marin County Jail on multiple related charges, Sgt. Jim Correa said.</p><p>Detectives began investigationg Brewer about two weeks ago after district staff noticed an unusual purchase.</p><p>Brewer is accused of using district credit cards to buy items at local businesses for his personal use, Correa said.</p><p>He was released from jail after posting bail, jail officials confirmed.</p><p>- Julie Johnson</p>
