A 34-year-old Rohnert Park resident was arrested Thursday on suspicion of embezzling more than $98,000 from the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District, San Rafael police officials reported.
Jason Brewer, a buyer for the district’s San Rafael bus division, was booked into Marin County Jail on multiple related charges, Sgt. Jim Correa said.
Detectives began investigationg Brewer about two weeks ago after district staff noticed an unusual purchase.
Brewer is accused of using district credit cards to buy items at local businesses for his personal use, Correa said.
