EDITOR: The city of Petaluma has been very fortunate to have had the service of Teresa Barrett as a council member over the last four years.
I am constantly witnessing the financial and social benefits of our natural recreational resources and open space. Teresa has always recognized the value of these environmental assets and fought hard to preserve them. During her council term, she continually advocated and supported smart economic development that would bring new business revenues to the city while protecting our historic landmarks, agricultural heritage and open hillsides from reckless construction and misuse. While others were calling for new building in flood zones, Teresa Barrett stood firm with the residents in flood hazard areas to defend them from ill-conceived development proposals that would have endangered their homes and livelihoods.
She is one of the few civic leaders who are dedicated to creating new jobs and commercial growth while never forgetting that her first priority is representing the rights and interests of the citizens of our community. It is very important that we reelect Teresa Barrett to the City Council on Nov. 2.
Please join me in helping Petaluma move towards a prosperous and sustainable community!
