Connie Cook, the West County woman whose life and retirement were ransacked by a total nightmare of a renter, needs to move on.
To where, she's not sure. Cook was forced to sell her dream home at a loss after ex-tenant Gwen Smith ran off a second renter and then stopped paying her rent. She now searches for a modest rental to move into.
“I would love a little one-bedroom somewhere in the country,” she said.
As she seeks such a place, Cook (cecook@sonic.net) prepares for a yard sale at which she'll let go of everything she's not able to move.
At 9 a.m. Saturday, folks are invited onto the property she has loved for a decade — at 5200 Douglas Lane, off Ross Station Road — and she'll sell all the things that won't fit into the cozy rental she envisions.
