When the Kendall-Jackson Wine Center launches its seasonal farmstand on May 7, there will be a little something for everyone, including tasty street grub.
At least five food trucks - Fork, Karma, Street Eatz, Dim Sum Charlie's and Chicago-Style Hot Dogs — will be parked on the back lawn from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to serve up global street food to the crowd.
“We're always looking for new and exciting food things around here,” said Justin Wangler, executive chef of Jackson Family Wines. “The food trucks will be here every first Saturday.”
The monthly farmstand, which debuted last year, offers fresh produce for sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., plus bread and pastries, cheese and wine. The spring produce will include fava beans, asparagus, carrots and beets, Wangler said.
The Heirloom Tomato Plant Sale, held in conjunction with the first farmstand on May 7, will be held inside the wine center and on the back porch. The plant sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes a wide array of colorful, heirloom tomatoes.
The Kendall-Jackson farmstand will be held on the first Saturday of each month through October, except for September (when the annual Heirloom Tomato Festival is held).
The Kendall-Jackson Wine Center is located at 5007 Fulton Rd. in Santa Rosa. kj.com.
