The roads around Sonoma County will be alive with cyclists Thursday during the Bay Area's 18th Annual “Bike to Work Day.”
Early morning bikers can stop for coffee and treats from 6 to 9 a.m. at dozens of “energizer stations” on roadsides from Petaluma to Cloverdale.
On the way home, riders can enjoy parties and happy hour celebrations thrown by local restaurants and businesses.
“My favorite thing about biking...is the strong sense of community that can develop,” said Sandra Lupien, outreach director for the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition. “Bike Home Celebrations offer longtime bike commuters a chance to mingle with the bike-curious in an upbeat, social environment.”
