Pedestrian hit by car in Santa Rosa

A woman suffered minor injuries Monday when she was struck by a driver on West College Avenue, Santa Rosa fire officials said.

The woman was struck at about 4:45 p.m. east of North Dutton Avenue in the left-hand westbound lane, police said.

The woman, who was not identified, was crossing mid-block from the north side of West College, Sgt. Clay Van Artsdalen said.

Police interviewed a female driver behind the wheel of a Honda Odyssey that was parked in the left-hand lane.

She was stopped just before Maxwell Drive across the road from the Maestros Espirituales psychic storefront.

Behind her, an officer diverted westbound traffic through a parking lot to Maxwell Drive. Eastbound drivers were also diverted to Maxwell for about 15 minutes until the crash was cleared.

Santa Rosa Fire Battalion Chief Mike Jones said the female pedestrian's injuries were minor.

“She had a complaint of pain to her left knee and ankle,” Van Artsdalen said.
