Armed man robs Petaluma check-cashing business

<p>Petaluma police say a man wearing dark makeup on his face held up a check-cashing store in a busy shopping center on North McDowell Boulevard near East Washington Street on Tuesday afternoon.</p><p>The man made off with an undisclosed amount of money, and a search of the area by police was unsuccessful.</p><p>The robber reportedly entered the Check-n-Go check-cashing business at 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it at a clerk, demanding money.</p><p>He was last seen running toward a McDonald's parking lot.</p><p>He was described as a white man, aged 30-to-40-years-old, and standing 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8.</p><p>He had brown hair and dark colored face makeup.</p><p>Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at (707) 778-4372.</p>
