A 43-year-old Windsor woman was killed Sunday morning when she crashed on a highway off-ramp, CHP officials said.
The crash occurred at about 8:40 a.m. on the Fulton Road exit from southbound Highway 101.
The woman appeared to have been traveling too fast as she left the highway and missed a curve in the road, CHP Officer Nenad Gorenec said.
With heavy fog and wet roads, the Ford Mustang continued straight.
“The driver lost control and struck a redwood tree, Gorenec said.
She was not wearing a seatbelt, Gorenec said.
Windsor firefighters were dispatched to the scene to extricate her from a green Ford Mustang, according to Redcom, Sonoma County's emergency dispatch.
Her name is being withheld pending notification of her family.
