The Boy Scouts' Redwood Empire Council has completed the $1.9 million sale of its Camp Masonite-Navarro in southern Mendocino County, Scouting officials announced Thursday.

The sale to NorthWest Stewards, a Seattle-based real estate investment company, allows Scouts to continue to use the facility as they have for nearly six decades.

The camp was founded in 1955 on Masonite Corp.timberland along the Navarro River's north fork. The timber company donated the land to the council in 1973.
