CULVER CITY — An 89-year-old man has died, three weeks after he was attacked on a bus in Los Angeles.
Authorities say the man died Saturday morning at a hospital. His name hasn't been released and an autopsy is pending.
The man was attacked on a Metro bus near Culver City on Oct. 21. Thirty-five-year-old Luke Schoedel was arrested at the scene and remains jailed on suspicion of assault and elder abuse.
There's no word on what sparked the attack.
Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steven Whitmore tells City News Service it's unclear whether the attack or the elderly man's age led to his death. If it's the attack, Whitmore says Schoedel could be charged with murder.
