Memorial scheduled for Doug Campbell

<p>The life of combat veteran, longtime Santa Rosa Schools educator and Press Democrat newsman Doug Campbell will be celebrated Nov. 24 at the Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center.</p><p>The celebration begins at 2 p.m.</p><p>Campbell earned a Silver Star for valor in World War II and for many years worked both for The Press Democrat and the city schools. He retired from post of Director of Secondary Education in 1981.</p><p>Campbell died in April in Michigan, where he had moved to be closer to one of his children. He was 90.</p><p>— Chris Smith</p>
