A vehicle struck a utility pole on Piner Road in Santa Rosa shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday, bringing down power lines and closing the road for several hours, police said.
Motorists were permitted through shortly after 7 a.m., but part of the road remained closed, police said.
Several PG&E customers lost power, as well, a company spokeswoman said.
The accident occurred on Piner Road near Airway Drive and caused the pole to slant and drop its power lines near the road, fire personnel said.
No one was injured, firefighters said, but the incident sent motorists seeking detours, police said.
Four PG&E customers in the vicinity lost electricity due to the initial crash, and 32 other homes and businesses had power cut at 7 a.m., related to the repair work, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
Those homes and businesses were soon restored, but four customers remained without power for most of the day.
They were forecast to have their usual power restored by 5 p.m.
