The St. Vincent High School boys and girls basketball teams opened tournaments headed in different directions.
In the Lady Puma Invitational at Maria Carrillo, the St. Vincent girls shot down Tamalpais, 47-38.
St. Vincent led 23-2 at the end of the first quarter and coasted from there.
Urysla Baumgarten paced the Lady Mustangs with 14 points, while Rebecca Dodele scored 10.
St. Vincent faces host Maria Carrillo in a semifinal game tonight at 8 o’clock.
The St. Vincent boys lost their first game in the John McMillan Holiday Invitational in Cloverdale, falling to the hot Eagles, 52-31.
Zach Pierson led the St. Vincent effort with 15 points.
St. Vincent faces Berean Christian in a consolation-bracket game this evening at 5:30.
