A 37-year-old Lake County high school teacher is scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday after he was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography and harassing or molesting children.
Jeremy Stock, who taught English at Lower Lake High School, was arrested Friday at his home in Loch Lomond, Clearlake Police Department Det. Ryan Peterson said.
Stock already was on administrative leave from the school after officials in January received information about him allegedly having “inappropriate interaction with students.”
Peterson on Saturday would not say what the contact entailed, whether it occurred on campus or how many students were involved.
“I'm trying to protect them from further ridicule,” Peterson said of the students.
He said none of the child pornography allegedly discovered in Stock's possession involved students at the school. Investigators analyzed computers, several cell phones and mass storage devices that were taken from the teacher's home.
Peterson said Stock has been a teacher at the high school since 2009. He was released from Lake County Jail Friday night after posting $100,000 bail, a jail official said.
