During his lifetime, Petaluma resident Melvin Lloyd Goldblatt was a decorated Army veteran and a business owner.

Mr. Goldblatt died on Nov. 11, 2012 at the age of 90.
A native of Kansas City, M.O., Mr. Goldblatt served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was awarded both the Silver and Bronze Stars.
He founded First Service Sports Supply in 1974, which is now being run by his son, Dan Goldblatt, in Petaluma.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Phyllis Goldblatt of Petaluma; children, Justine Bourassa and Dan Goldblatt, both of Petaluma; and grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held.
