Busy weekend for local hoop teams

It is going to be a busy weekend for local basketball teams as they try to squeeze in important pre-league games prior to the winter break.

Petaluma's boys are at Rancho Cotate Thursday night for a pride game against the rival Cougars. Starting this week's play, the Trojans were 1-3 on the season, while Rancho Cotate was 0-4.
The Rancho Cotate game comes in the midst of a big week for the Trojans, who played at Alameda Monday, at home against Casa Grande Tuesday and are at San Marin Saturday.
Casa Grande's Gauchos following their Tuesday game against Petaluma with a trip to Larkspur to meet Redwood's Giants Saturday.
St. Vincent, 1-4 on the season, plays at College of Marin Friday night against Branson from Ross. Branson has a 5-2 record.
Petaluma's girls, 4-1 beginning this week's play, will participate in the Ukiah Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday, opening against Piner in the tournament's first game Thursday at 4 p.m.
Casa Grande's Lady Gauchos, 4-1 beginning this week's play continue their tough pre-league schedule with participation in the Mats Tip-Off Classic at Miramonte in Orinda. Casa opens with Dublin, 4-1 on the season.
