Authorities have released the names of a father and son who died after they were swept into the sea while fishing near the Golden Gate Bridge Friday.

Marin County sheriff's officials say 37-year-old Juan Escamillo-Rojas and nine-year-old Juan Carlos Escamillo-Monroy, both of San Francisco, died after waves pulled them into the frigid waters around 5 p.m. Friday.

The father and son were fishing on a rocky coastline just northwest of the bridge on the Marin Headlands, an area exposed to large swells rolling in from the Pacific.

A fireboat crew called to the area pulled the two from the water, but the father and son were both pronounced dead after being taken to Coast Guard Station Golden Gate.

Another adult was also swept into the ocean, but survived.
