Shots fired in Santa Rosa home invasion

<p>Shots were fired early Saturday during a home-invasion robbery in the Mark West Springs Road area, a Sonoma County sheriff's spokesman said.</p><p>The incident was reported at 2:40 a.m. by the occupant, who had locked himself in a room and called 911, Lt. Tim Duke said.</p><p>As many as four men ransacked the house, stealing marijuana or money, Duke said.</p><p>They fled in a car that was spotted by a neighbor who followed it, Duke said.</p><p>The neighbor broke off the pursuit when the car stopped and fired at the neighbor, Duke said.</p><p>Arriving deputies heard the shots but could not find the car because of an insufficient vehicle description, Duke said.</p><p>— Paul Payne</p>
