Eva M. Gold

<p>A worker for the American Red Cross for nearly 40 years, Eva Marie Gold never took a vacation during her working years.</p><p>She spent her retirement years making up for it — traveling around the world on ocean cruises.</p><p>A Petaluma resident, Mrs. Gold died January 12, 2013 at age 96.</p><p>Mrs. Gold was born on an Indian Reservation in Boyle, Alberta, Canada. In 1936, she married Sol Gold who predeceased her in 1943 during World War II. She never remarried. </p><p>She went to work at the American Red Cross in 1942 and completed a career with them in Disaster Service for almost 40 years. </p><p>A long time resident of San Francisco, she moved to Petaluma in the 1980s.</p><p>She was a member of the Petaluma Woman's Club, the Petaluma Museum Association, the Petaluma Garden Club, and the “Scarlet Angels” (Red Hatters).</p><p>She is survived by her son, Ted Gold of Carmel; grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and her sister Rosebelle Gold of San Francisco. She was predeceased by her brothers, Maury, Harry, and Roy Sankey. </p><p>Services will be private.
