Petaluma and Casa well represented on soccer all-league teams

SCL BOYS
The under class offensive leaders and the senior defensive stalwarts who led Petaluma High School’s boys soccer team into the North Coast Section playoffs have been chosen to the All-Sonoma County League team by the league coaches.
Oliver Borajas, a junior forward; Tarwinder Purewal, a sophomore midfielder; Tobin Gutermuth, a senior defender and Luc Rivetti, a senior defender, were chosen to the All-SCL first team.
Analy senior forward Agustin Reyes was picked the league Most Valuable Player.
Also chosen to the first team were Jose Avila, a senior forward from Healdsburg; Alejandro Echeverria, a junior forward from Sonoma Valley; Jose Garcia, a junior forward from Elsie Allen; Brian Ruiz, a junior forward from Sonoma Valley; Jordan Vega, a senior forward from Healdsburg; Marco Barragan, a junior midfielder from Piner; Connor Hennen, a senior midfielder from El Molino; Chris Huerta, a senior midfielder from Elsie Allen; Fabian Martinez, a sophomore midfielder from Healdsburg; Carlos Melendez, a junior midfielder from Elsie Allen; Isaac Moore. a senior midfielder from Analy; Cassidy Rosales, a junior midfielder from Analy; Valentin Salas, a senior mid fielder from El Molino; Shaq Burton, a junior defender from Analy; Andy Chavez, a junior defender from Sonoma Valley; Luis Corona, a junior defender from Analy; and Saul Valencia, a sophomore defender from Analy.
Petaluma’s Rogelio Brambila, a senior midfielder; Jaz Gonzales, a senior midfielder; Sean Parratt, a senior midfielder; and Jacob Wichmann, a senior defender, were chosen to the second team.
Max Crysdale, a sophomore forward; Francisco Guerrero, a junior midfielder; Ryan Ishizu, a senior defender, and Ricky Singleton, a senior goalkeeper received honorable mention notice.
Petaluma’s Greg Lamansky shared Coach of the Year honors with Herbert Lemus of Healdsburg and Peter Meechan of Analy.
SCL GIRLS
The leaders of Petaluma High School’s girls soccer team have been rewarded with top honors on the All-Sonoma County League team.
Junior forward McKenzie Maher was selected Offensive Player of the Year by the league coaches. Teammate Nikki Elliott, a sophomore defender, was chosen defensive player of the year.
Analy senior midfielders Riley Ping Medvigy and Colette Zepponi shared honors as Co-Most Valuable Players.
Petaluma’s Kierra Lizama, a senior who played on both defense and offense; Annie Madden, a sophomore goalkeeper; Sophie Payne, a senior midfielder and Jenny Saxton a senior midfielder were selected to the all-league first team.
Also selected to the first team were Klie Dale, a senior defender from Heladsburg; Maria Hawing, a junior defender from Sonoma Valley; Kirsten Hodgson, a junior defender from Sonoma Valley; Caroline Knef, a senior midfielder from Sonoma Valley; Isabelle Lillyk a sophomore defender/midfielder from Analy; Allison Lopez, a senior midfielder from Piner; Nacla Newman, a junior defender/midfielder from Analy; Isy Ruiz, a senior forward from El Molino; Sarah Vargas, a senior goalkeeper from healdsurg; Samantha Zeppoini, a freshman forward from Analy; and Tatjana Ziemer, a senior defender from Analy.
Petaluma’s Liza Bernard, a sophomore defender; Ami Keen, a sophomore forward; Megan Stavish, a freshman defender and Bella Santia, a junior forward, were picked to the second team.
Marissa Bordessa, a junior forward; Olivia Stewart, a sophomore midfielder; and Jenna Teagarden, a sophomore forward, received honorable mention notice.
NBL GIRLS
The young and the experienced of the Casa Grande High School girls soccer team are the first Lady Gauchos chosen to an All-North Bay League girls soccer team.
At the conclusion of Casa’s first year as a member of the NBL, the league coaches selected sophomore forward Amanda Galbraith and senior defender Dayna Dolcini to the All-NBL first team.
Montgomery senior midfielder Katie Woodrun was selected most Valuable Offensive Player and Cardinal Newman junior defender Jackie Dutton was picked Most Valuable Defender.
Also named to the all-league first team were senior forward Katie Mohr of Maria Carrillo, senior forward Audry Rommo from Cardinal Newman, freshman forward Taylor Ziemer from Montgomery, senior midfielder Arianna Barragan from Cardinal Newman, junior midfielder Mia Costa from Cardinal Newman, sophomore midfielder Miranda Gonzalez from Maria Carrillo, senior midfielder Victoria Kovatch from Maria Carrillo, senior midfielder Paige McMahon from Montgomery, senior midfielder Mariah Meuse from Rancho Cotate, senior defender Amanda Morton from Windsor, junior defender Katie Prosser from Maria Carrillo and senior defender Ali Schaffer from Maria Carrillo.
Casa Grande midfielders Becca Benjamin a junior, and Rachel Gugel, a senior, were chosen to the second team.
Lady Gauchos Taylor Halstenson, a senior forward, and Emily Welter, a senior defender, received honorable mention notice.
