Volunteers to spruce up Petaluma community farm on MLK day

<p>Volunteers with Petaluma Bounty will be working hard at the community farm on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, when many other folks will be taking the day off.</p><p>In the spirit of “a day on, not a day off,” volunteers will help with seasonal duties at the farm, 55 Shasta Ave.</p><p>Projects will include beautifying and mulching the pathways, weeding annual grasses, laying compost around fruit trees, painting signs and more.</p><p>Organizers say there are projects appropriate for all ages and those experienced with gardening or not.</p><p>Work will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and participants are asked to wear work shoes and warm clothes and bring a lunch for yourself or something to share with others.</p><p>RSVPs are welcome but not required: farm@petalumabounty.org or 364-4883.</p>
