A Novato motorcyclist was killed and his wife severely injured Sunday when they crashed into a woman pulling out of her Bloomfield driveway, CHP officials said.
Michael Kolb died at the scene of the 3:20 p.m. crash on Valley Ford Road just east of Carmody Road, CHP Officer Marcus Hawkins said.
His wife, Martha Kolb, 51, who was a passenger on the 2008 Harley Davidson, suffered major injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, Hawkins said.
Cynthia Callahan, 77, of Petaluma pulled out of her Bloomfield driveway in a Nissan Rogue SUV and began making a left-hand turn onto Valley Ford Road, pulling into the couple’s path, Hawkins said.
The motorcyclists crashed into the driver’s side door.
All three motorists were wearing proper safety equipment and Callahan reported pain but had no other obvious injuries, Hawkins said.
