A woman in her 20s suffered major injuries when she was hit by a van Tuesday in Lakeport, fire officials said.
The crash was reported after 6:30 p.m. on South Main Street near Lupoyoma Avenue.
The driver of a Ford Aerostar van struck the pedestrian in the southbound lane, Lakeport Police Sgt. Kevin Odom said.
Officers late Tuesday were still investigating exactly where the crash occurred and if the pedestrian was in a crosswalk or near the road's edge.
The driver said she was traveling at about 30 mph and "indicated she didn't see the person," Odom said. Lakeport firefighter Spencer Johnson said the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing.
The victim was unconscious when fire paramedics arrived but then awoke and became combative, Johnson said. She had head injuries, he said.
A REACH helicopter crew flew her to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The names of those involved weren't immediately available.
