An El Verano man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run Sunday morning after he rear-ended another driver near Sonoma and kept going, the CHP said.
Sgt. Gilberto Jose said a Nissan pickup heading south on Arnold Drive at about 7:40 a.m. Sunday struck a Chevy pickup that was turning onto Walnut Avenue.
The Nissan kept going until a tire on the truck blew out, forcing the driver to stop at a feed store near Orange Avenue.
The CHP arrested Danny Wayne Sanders, 59, on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
Jose said Sanders reported that he was taking anti-depressant medication and also had consumed marijuana.
Sanders was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
