VIP PetCare of Windsor is adding more clinics to vaccinate pets against rabies until the end of this month.
The additional vaccinations, which cost $5, were started after a Glen Ellen family's pet cat contracted rabies and bit family members. The cat had not been vaccinated against rabies.
The incident, the first time a domestic pet has contracted rabies in Sonoma County since 1997, prompted a call from the Sonoma County Department of Health Services for residents to have their pets vaccinated.
