Cat lovers delighted at the diverse range of pedigrees that filled the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa Sunday with purrs and mews.
A cast of 143 felines competed for Best Cat or Best Kitten in show at the Call of the Wild Cat Fanciers 25th annual show, as well as a range of other awards including the audience's choice.
"From a hairless sphinx to a Persian with five-inch long fur, they're so different you can't believe they're the same species," said Kristy Dal Poggetto, treasurer of the Santa Rosa-based Wild Cat Fanciers that puts on the yearly show.
Cats arrived from across Northern California and far-flung states such as Texas to perform at the two-day event that ended Sunday. A judge made the trek from Germany, Dal Poggetto said.
