PETALUMA — New leases to Beverages & More, JPMorgan Chase Bank and Chipotle Mexican Grill bring the 291,000 square feet of retail space under construction at the East Washington Place project to more than 90 percent leased, even as the scheduled opening of the anchor Target store is still months away.
Signing long-term leases with retail developer Regency Centers were Concord-based BevMo, for a 9,931-square-foot building to be built at the southernmost tip of the 34-acre property; New York-based Chase, for a 4,000-square-foot branch office in a building near the northernmost entrance; and Denver-based Chipotle, for a 2,000 square feet restaurant in a building already set to house Panera Bread.
“It goes to show that at least in the Bay Area, the economy is turning around,” said Katie Singer, one of the Terranomics agents for Regency.
BevMo already has five North Bay stores, and Chipotle has three so far and one set to open shortly in Rohnert Park.
Construction on the shopping center began a year ago, and Target's 135,000-square-foot store is set to open in July. Remaining to lease are 27,150 square feet. Three deals for nearly 10,000 square feet is in advanced negotiation stages.
Tenants with signed leases, in order of size, are Dick's Sporting Goods, T.J. Maxx/Homegoods, Sprouts, Ulta Beauty, Sleep Train, Panera, Pacific Dental, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Sprint, Subway, Sport Clips, Cheese Steak and locally based cupcakery Sift.
