Downtown Petaluma SMART station plan up for review Thursday

<p>Residents interested in Petaluma's designs for the area around the planned SMART rail station downtown can review and discuss the final draft of the Station Area Master Plan tonight.</p><p>The presentation by the Station Area Planning Citizens Advisory Committee will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Petaluma Community Center craft room 1, 320 N. McDowell Blvd.</p><p>After months of planning and community input, the final draft will be presented to the committee and additional comments will be received. No formal action will be taken.</p><p>The plan is tentatively scheduled to be presented before the Planning Commission on March 26 and to the City Council in April or May.</p><p>The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit train is scheduled to begin running in 2016.</p><p>The plan can be viewed online at http://cityofpetaluma.net/cmgr/pdf/samp-final-draft.pdf</p>
