Feeling the beat

<p>Who would have guessed that some of the best conga drums in the world are made in Petaluma? </p><p>Well, PM Percussion congas made by Peter Musser were recently ranked No. 5 on a list of the 10 best conga drums in the world by musician and recording artist Michael Pluznick on his website. </p><p>“These are superb conga drums and a finely made handcrafted instrument,” Pluznick wrote. “He pays meticulous attention to detail. Peter makes his drums from a variety of woods and even uses aged wine barrels and peppered cedar. His drums are quite beautiful and sound great as well.” </p><p>Pluznick went on to say, “The finish is so beautiful and almost on par in terms of beautiful exotic wood finish and sound with the Volcano drums from Hawaii.” </p><p>Musser, who was featured in an Argus-Courier community profile in 2009, is also a high-end residential carpenter.
